What is wisdom tooth surgery?
Wisdom tooth extraction is one of the most common dental surgical procedures. Thanks to our extensive experience and expertise in dental surgery, we can remove wisdom teeth so gently that you, as a patient, will be back on your feet as quickly as possible. (Of course, we will also provide you with a sick note or a certificate of incapacity for work for the recovery period, should you need one.)
Wisdom teeth are removed very frequently, usually by doctors or dentists specializing in surgery. Therefore, it is advisable to consult an experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon or oral surgeon for this procedure. For these specialists, wisdom tooth removal is a routine procedure!
How long does the swelling last after surgery?
Typically, there is slight swelling of the cheek for two to three days after surgery, after which the swelling subsides. There are, of course, several things you can do to reduce the swelling: for example, elevate your head slightly, apply a cold compress to the cheek, and brush your teeth thoroughly. Using a supportive antiseptic mouthwash can help prevent inflammation.
How much does it cost to have wisdom teeth removed?
Die Entfernung von Weisheitszähnen ist weniger aufwendig, wenn die Zähne bereits in der Mundhöhle zu sehen sind, das heißt aus dem Knochen herausgewachsen sind. Weisheitszähne, die noch im Knochen verborgen sind, müssen erst freigelegt werden, um sie zu entfernen, was dementsprechend aufwendiger ist. Daher kann auch kein absoluter Festpreis für die Entfernung von Weisheitszähnen genannt werden. Gerne geben wir wieder Beispiele:
- Sarah L., 18 Jahre, hat nur noch zwei Weisheitszähne. Diese sind noch im Kiefer verborgen, die Wurzeln sind noch nicht komplett ausgebildet. Die Kosten für die Entfernung der Weisheitszähne liegen inklusive der Nachkontrolle bei 693,20 €.
- Luca S., 20 Jahre, hat noch drei Weisheitszähne, ein Zahn ist bereits bei Zahnschmerzen vor einigen Jahren entfernt worden. Zwei Weisheitszähne sind schon im Mund zu sehen, der dritte Zahn ist noch im Knochen verborgen. Auf dem Röntgenbild, das Luca vom Zahnarzt mitbringt, kann man die Zähne gut beurteilen, so dass keine neue Röntgenaufnahme notwendig ist. Am Ende kostet die Weisheitszahnentfernung alles inklusive 951,70 €.
